December 11, 2016:  Daily News Release

The following incidents were reported on Saturday, December 10, 2016:

M/V CRASH:

At 7:25 AM, Deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash that occurred on County Hwy C, near Marshall Bluff Road, Town of Mount Pleasant.  Investigation revealed a vehicle operated by Ashley S. Holz, 27, of Monticello, was westbound on County Hwy C when she attempted to avoid a deer in the roadway.  Holz’s vehicle went off the road and collided with a culvert.  Holz was not injured, her seatbelt was used, and the airbag did not deploy.  The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

M/V CRASH:

At 4:18 PM, Deputies, along with Browntown Fire, responded to a one-vehicle crash on County Hwy M, at Old Highway Road, Town of Cadiz.  Investigation revealed a milk tanker truck, operated by Douglas E. Bliss, 59, of Brodhead, was northbound on County Hwy M.  Bliss lost control of the truck while negotiating a curve due to the snow-covered, slippery roadway.  The truck collided with a utility pole coming to a rest.  Bliss was not injured, his seatbelt was used, and the airbag did not deploy.  The truck sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene after it was towed off of the utility pole.  Alliant Energy assisted at the scene.

M/V CRASH:

At 4:22 PM, Deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash on Clarno Road, at Mings Road, Town of Clarno.  Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Fredrick J. Kloepping, 72, of Monroe, was traveling westbound on Mings Road when he slid through the intersection of Clarno Road due to the snow-covered, slippery roadway.  Kloepping was not injured, his seatbelt was used, and the airbag did not deploy.  The vehicle sustained moderate, front damage and was towed from the scene.

M/V CRASH:

At 5:17 PM, Deputies, along with Belleville Police, responded to a two-vehicle crash on State Hwy 92, at Remy Road, Town of Exeter.  Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Ronnie G. Day, 71, of Brooklyn, was traveling north on State Hwy 92, negotiating on a curve, when a vehicle operated by Brandy L. Bengtson, 40, Janesville, was traveling south on Remy Road.  Bengtson failed to stop at the stop sign due to the snow-covered, slippery roadway, causing Bengtson to collide with Day.  Day was not injured, his seatbelt was used, and the airbag did not deploy.  Day's vehicle sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.  Bengtson was not injured, her seatbelt was used, and the airbag did not deploy.  Bengtson’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

M/V CRASH:

At 7:32 PM, Deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash in the N2000 block of Allen Road, Town of Cadiz.  Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Paul M. Dammen, 68, of Monroe, was southbound on Allen Road when he lost control due to the snow-covered, slippery roadway.  The vehicle entered the west ditch, where it struck an embankment.  Dammen was not injured, his seatbelt was used, and the airbag did not deploy.  The vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.
