The following incidents were reported on Tuesday, December 13th, 2016:


Motor Vehicle Crash:


At 11:10 AM, Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash in the W400 block of Red Cedar Lane, Town of Decatur.  Investigation revealed a truck, operated by Robert R. Peterson, 70, of Brodhead, was westbound on Red Cedar Lane.  A second westbound vehicle behind Peterson was operated by Sandra J. Hasselmann, 49, of Brodhead. Peterson swung wide to the left to prepare to make a right turn into a driveway. Hasselmann believed Peterson was pulling up to the mailboxes, so she continued around Peterson on the right.  As Peterson attempted to complete his turn, the two vehicles collided.  There were no injuries and all occupants were properly restrained.  Both vehicles sustained minor damages, with no airbag deployment, and were driven from the scene.


Motor Vehicle Crash & Probation & Parole Hold:


At 6:42 PM, Deputies, along with the Albany Police Department, responded to the N7200 block of CTH E, Town of Albany, for a one-vehicle crash in which the driver left the scene.

The driver was identified as Justin D. Kainz, 24, of Monroe. Kainz was southbound on CTH E and reported that he was talking on the phone when he entered the west ditch and struck a power pole. Kainz then left the scene. Kainz was uninjured and was wearing his seatbelt. The air bags did not deploy in the vehicle.

Kainz was cited for Operating While Revoked (alcohol related), Failure to Maintain Control of a Motor Vehicle, and Hit and Run Property Damage. The Department of Corrections placed a hold on Kainz and he was transported to the Green County Jail, where he remains incarcerated. The vehicle sustained severe front-end damage and remained on scene.

Motor Vehicle Crash - Personal Injury:

At 7:35 PM, Deputies, along with Monticello Police Department, Monticello First Response and Albany EMS, responded to the N6400 block of Schneeberger Road, Town of Mt. Pleasant, for a one-vehicle rollover crash. 


Investigation revealed that Harmon M. Garvoille, 16, of Albany, was traveling south on Schneeberger Road and lost control on the snow/ice-covered roadway. Garvoille's vehicle entered the east ditch and overturned. Garvoille was injured in the crash, but declined medical attention. Garvoille was wearing his seatbelt and the air bags deployed in the vehicle. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene.
