January 03, 2017: Daily News Release
The following incidents occurred on Monday, January 2nd, 2017:
At 8:59 AM, Deputies responded to a domestic abuse case at a residence in the W8100 block of Prairie View Road, Town of Adams. Investigation resulted in Paul C. Nangle, 29, of Argyle, being arrested for Domestic Disorderly Conduct, Battery, and Strangulation. Nangle was held at the Green County Jail pending court.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 11:30 AM, Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash in the W4100 block of STH 11, Town of Sylvester. Investigation revealed that Ana E. Hernandez-Velasquez, 38, of Belvedere, IL, was traveling west on STH 11 when a vehicle, operated by Andrew J. Ermey, 51, of Monroe, turned west onto STH 11 from Short Lane. Hernandez-Velasquez was unable to stop in time and rear-ended Ermey's vehicle.
Neither driver was injured in the crash. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts and no air bags were deployed in either vehicle. Ermey's vehicle sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene. The vehicle Hernandez-Velasquez was driving sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
Ermey was issued a citation for Failure to Yield Right of Way from a Stop Sign. Hernandez-Velasquez was issued a citation for Operating a Motor Vehicle without Insurance. Both subjects were released pending court.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 6:51 PM, Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash that occurred on private property in the N2300 block of Bloom Lane, Town of Clarno. Investigation revealed that a vehicle, operated by Philip D. Hoffman, 32, of Monroe, backed into a legally parked vehicle. Hoffman was not injured in the crash and was not wearing his seat belt. The air bags did not deploy in his vehicle. Hoffman's vehicle sustained very minor damage and was driven from the scene. The legally parked vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the crash. The air bags did not deploy in this vehicle. This vehicle sustained moderate damage and was left at the scene.
At 10:32 PM, Deputies, Albany EMS, Albany Police, and Albany First Response responded to a report of a crash in the N6700 block of Norwegian Road, Town of Albany.
When deputies arrived on scene, they made contact with the occupant of the vehicle, James A. Nehls, 30, Brodhead. Investigation revealed that Nehls did not crash his vehicle, but had pulled his vehicle over to sleep.
Nehls was cited for Non-Registration of Auto. Nehls was arrested on a Failure to Pay Fine warrant that was issued by the Brodhead Police Department. Nehls posted bond for the warrant and was released pending court for the traffic citation.
