The following incidents occurred on Thursday, January 19th, 2017:
Motor Vehicle Crash-Personal Injury:
At 10:16 AM, Deputies, Monroe Police Department, Green County EMS, and Monroe Fire Department responded to the N3200 block of STH 81, Town of Monroe, for a two-vehicle crash with injuries.
Investigation revealed that Harland A. Fuchs, 79, of Monroe, was traveling east on STH 81 and was stopped in traffic to turn when his vehicle was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Christine E. Busch, 45, of Blanchardville. After this crash occurred, a third vehicle, described as a black Chevy pickup truck traveling east on STH 81, came upon the crash scene and sideswiped Busch’s vehicle. The operator of this black pickup truck then left the scene. The occupants of the hit-and-run truck were described as two white males. The only other description of the truck was that it was an extended cab.
Fuchs was not injured in the crash and was wearing a seatbelt. The air bags did not deploy in his vehicle. Fuchs's vehicle sustained moderate rear-end damage and was towed from the scene. Busch’s vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. Busch was not wearing a seatbelt and the air bags deployed in the vehicle. Busch was injured in the crash and was transported by EMS to a local hospital. Busch was cited for Driving Too Fast for Conditions and was released pending court.
