The following incident was reported on Monday, January 23, 2017:
At 9:38 PM, Deputies located an occupied vehicle in the ditch on State Hwy 69, north of Hefty Road, Town of New Glarus. Danielle J. Donohue, 25, Verona, claimed that she swerved for an animal in the roadway. Donohue was not injured and reported wearing her seatbelt. There was no airbag deployment. The vehicle sustained a flat tire and was towed from the ditch.
Investigation resulted in Donohue being arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Donohue was cited for Failure to Maintain Control of a Vehicle and was jailed pending court. The Sheriff's Office K9 Unit assisted with the investigation.
The following incidents were reported on Tuesday, January 24, 2017:
Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage:
At 10:44 a.m., Deputies were called to a motor vehicle crash on STH 81 at STH 11 (Argyle Interchange), in the Town of Monroe. Daniel W. Nipple, 43, Monroe, was operating a semi southbound on STH 81. Robert Bagley, 86, Durand, IL, had failed to yield the right of way from the westbound stop sign for STH 11/81, and turned southbound in front of Nipple. Bagley’s vehicle sideswiped the semi, causing minor damage to the tire of the trailer. Bagley's vehicle sustained moderate, passenger's side damage.
All drivers and occupants reported wearing seat belts and were uninjured. There was no airbag deployment. All vehicles were driven from the scene. Bagley was cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Proof of Insurance and Failure to Yield Right of Way from a Stop Sign. Monroe Police assisted at the scene.
