February 14, 2017:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on Monday, February 13th, 2017:


At 2:15 AM, Deputies responded to the W7000 block of CTH H, Town of New Glarus, for criminal damage to a mailbox complaint. The suspect vehicle was located and stopped. Investigation resulted in Ryan S. Purkapile, 18, of Evansville, being arrested for Absolute Sobriety. Purkapile was also cited for Malicious Destruction of Property and Unreasonable and Imprudent Speed. Purkapile was released pending court.


A 16-year-old male passenger from Evansville that was in the vehicle was cited for Underage Alcohol Consumption-1st Offense. He was released to a parent, pending court.


Warrant Arrest:

At 11:48 AM, Deputies arrested Ashley R. Hauser, 27, of Monroe, at the Green County Justice Center, 2800 block of 6th Street, in the City of Monroe. Hauser was arrested on a warrant that was issued through Green County for Felony Theft and Misdemeanor Criminal Damage to Property. Hauser was jailed pending court.

Traffic Offense:

At 5:03 PM, Deputies stopped a vehicle in the N5300 block of CTH M, Town of Adams. Investigation resulted in Jaena M. Legault, 18, of Argyle, being cited for Operating After Suspension. Legault was released pending court.

Motor Vehicle Crash-Personal Injury:

At 10:04 PM, Deputies, along with Brodhead First Response and Brodhead EMS, responded to the STH 11 at CTH GG, Town of Spring Grove Township, for a semi truck that overturned.

Investigation revealed that Russell E. Clinton Sr., 70, of Evart, MI, was traveling north on STH 81 and approaching the intersection of STH 81 and STH 11 when he failed to stop at the stop sign.  The semi continued north onto CTH GG, where it entered the ditch and overturned. When the semi overturned, this caused the semi to lose its load of milk.

Clinton was injured in the crash and was transported by REACT for injuries sustained in the crash.  There was no airbag deployment and it is unknown if Clinton was wearing his seatbelt.  The semi tractor and trailer sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. The Wisconsin State Patrol assisted at the scene.

Domestic Abuse:

At 10:23 PM, Deputies responded to a residence in the W2900 block of Jordan Road, Town of Jefferson, for a domestic dispute. Investigation resulted in Peter B. Belletiere, 34, of Juda, being arrested for Domestic Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Damage, and Resisting Arrest. Belletiere was jailed, pending court.
