February 19, 2017:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on Saturday, February 18th, 2017:

PROPERTY DAMAGE CRASH:

On 2/18 at 7:23 PM, Deputies were dispatched to a one-vehicle accident that occurred on CTH O, near Primrose Center Road, New Glarus Township. An SUV, driven by Callista I. Lahey (16), of Mount Horeb, WI, was traveling north on CTH O when she lost control of the SUV while negotiating a curve. The road was frost/ice-covered and Lahey's vehicle slid off the west side of the roadway and struck an embankment.

Lahey was not injured in the accident and was wearing a seatbelt. No airbags were deployed in the vehicle she was driving. The vehicle Lahey was driving sustained moderate to severe front-end damage and was towed from the scene.

VEHICLE VS. DEER CRASH:

On 2/18 at 5:55 PM, Deputies responded to the N8900 block of Legler Road, in the Town of Brooklyn, for a report of a car vs. deer accident. Derrick P. Nipple (28) of Albany, WI, was traveling northbound when a deer entered the roadway and collided with his vehicle.  Derrick reported that he was wearing his seat belt and was not injured.  Derrick's passenger, Catarina T. Haney (24), of Albany, WI, reported that she was wearing her seatbelt and was not injured.  The vehicle sustained minor damage to the front, left side of the vehicle and the air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was driven from the scene.  The deer was not located.

TRAFFIC CRIME:

On 02/18 at 8:57 PM, Deputies stopped Violeta (NMI) Tablas-Zuniga (24), of Beloit, WI, in the W1700 block of STH 11 for a traffic infraction. Violeta was subsequently cited for Operating After Revocation (OWI-related) and was released pending a mandatory court date.

DOMESTIC ABUSE:

On 2/18 at 11:20 PM, Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the W8400 block of Pilz Road, Town of Cadiz.

Following the investigation, Lawrence R. Hermanson, age 60, was arrested for Domestic Disorderly Conduct and Battery. Hermanson will be held at the Green County Jail.
