The following incidents occurred on Sunday, May 7, 2017:

Motor Vehicle Crash-Personal Injury & OWI:

 

At 12:02 AM, Deputies attempted to stop a southbound motorcycle for speeding in the N7100 block of STH 69, Town of Washington. The motorcycle continued on and in the W4300 block of CTH C, the driver was northbound and failed to negotiate the curve and struck a guide wire to a utility pole. The motorcycle then went down an embankment and struck several fences. The driver was identified as Eugene C. Mosconi, 40, of Warren, IL. Mosconi was injured in the crash and was transported by Medflight to UW Hospital. Mosconi was not wearing a helmet and it is unknown if he was wearing eye protection. The motorcycle received minor damage and was towed from the scene.

 

Mosconi was arrested for Operating While Under the Influence (alcohol) - 2nd Offense. Mosconi was also cited for Operate Motorcycle Without Endorsement, Operate After Revocation due to Alcohol Concentration, Speeding, Fail to Stop at Stop Sign, and Operate Left of Center. Mosconi was released pending court.

 

Motor Vehicle Crash-Personal Injury & OWI:

 

At 3:23 PM, Deputies, along with New Glarus Police Department, New Glarus Fire Department, New Glarus EMS, and WI DNR, responded to the W5100 block of Airport Road, Town of New Glarus, for a one-vehicle crash.

 

Investigation revealed that Gary A. Norris, 63, of New Glarus, was eastbound on Airport Road when he failed to negotiate a curve and then went down an embankment and struck a tree. Norris was wearing his seat belt and the air bags did not deploy. Norris was injured in the crash and was transported by EMS to the Monroe Clinic Emergency Room. The vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage and was towed from the scene.

 

Norris was arrested for Operating While Under the Influence (alcohol) - 2nd Offense, Failure to Maintain Control of a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Norris was released pending court.
