The following incidents occurred on Tuesday, May 16, 2017:

Motor Vehicle Crash-Personal Injury:

 

At 6:16 PM, Deputies responded to the N4400 block of STH 69, Town of Monroe, for a car vs. tractor crash.  Investigation revealed that Theresa M. Wittenwyler, 67, of Monticello, was northbound on STH 69, traveling behind a farm tractor, pulling a planter.  The farm tractor was operated by John J. Spotts, 57, of Monroe. Spotts attempted to turn west onto Cold Springs Road when Wittenwyler proceeded to attempt to pass him on the left and collided with the tractor. Wittenwyler was wearing a seat belt and the air bags did not deploy in her vehicle. Wittenwyler was injured in the crash, but declined EMS. Spotts reported that he was not injured and was wearing his seat belt.

 

Spotts tractor sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene. Wittenwyler's vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene. Wittenwyler was cited for Passing Vehicle Indicating Left Turn and was released pending court.

 

Motor Vehicle Crash-Personal Injury:

 

At 7:40 PM, Deputies, along with Green County EMS, and Browntown Fire, responded to the W7700 block of CTH Y, Town of Jordan, for a motorcycle vs. deer crash. Investigation revealed that Ryan M. Rygh, 27, of South Wayne, was westbound when a deer entered the roadway and collided with his motorcycle.

 

Rygh was wearing a helmet, with eye protection.  Rygh was injured in the crash and was transported by EMS to a local hospital.  The motorcycle sustained minor damage and was towed from the scene.

 

Motor Vehicle Crash:

 

At 8:32 PM, Deputies responded to the W2400 block of STH 11, Town of Spring Grove, for a one-vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that Laila A. Mitchell, 17, of Janesville, was traveling east when the front driver's side tire blew out, which caused minor damage to her vehicle. Mitchell was not injured in the crash and was wearing her seat belt. The air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was driven from the scene after the tire was replaced.
