The following incidents occurred on Thursday, May 18th, 2017:
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 3:03 AM, Deputies responded to a car vs. tree collision in the W7100 block of Franklin Road, Town of Clarno. Douglas S. Wollny, age 48, of Freeport, IL, was traveling west when his vehicle struck a tree that had fallen onto the roadway. Wollny reported wearing his seatbelt and was not injured in the crash. The vehicle sustained disabling front-end and undercarriage damage; there was no airbag deployment. The vehicle was towed from the scene. The Clarno Patrolman responded and removed the tree from the road.
At 4:57 AM, Deputies responded to a truck vs. deer collision in the N5600 block of State Highway 69, Town of Washington. James G. Rufenacht, age 48, of Gratiot, was traveling north when a deer collided with his vehicle. Rufenacht and his passenger both reported wearing seatbelts and were not injured in the crash. The vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage; there was no airbag deployment. The vehicle was towed from the scene. The deer was killed and left on the shoulder for pick up.
At 7:54 AM, Deputies and Brooklyn Police responded to a car vs. road sign collision on County Highway E, at Brooklyn Albany Road, Town of Brooklyn. Tiffany R. Tessen, age 37, of Albany, was traveling north when a second vehicle operated by Andrea R. Bill, age 38, of Brooklyn, failed to yield the right of way from a stop sign. Tessen avoided colliding with Bill, but struck a stop sign. Tessen reported wearing her seatbelt and was not injured in the crash. Tessen's car sustained minor, left front damage; there was no airbag deployment. Tessen was able to drive the vehicle from the scene. Bill was warned for failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign. The Green County Highway Dept. was notified of the damaged road sign.
At 1:56 PM, Dustin M. Dean, age 28, of Monroe, was arrested for a probation violation.
