July 06, 2017:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on Wednesday, July 5th, 2017:



At 7:03 AM, Deputies took a report of a stolen trailer from the N4100 block of Decatur Sylvester Rd,, Town of Sylvester. The theft occurred sometime overnight. Anyone with information on the case can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-422-7463.


Motor Vehicle Crash - Personal Injury:


At 10:45 AM, Deputies, along with Monroe Fire Department and Green County EMS, responded to the W6800 block of STH 81, Town of Monroe, for a two-vehicle crash with injuries.


Amy M. Holst, 28, of Monroe, was westbound on STH 81 when she lost control of her vehicle and traveled across both lanes of traffic and collided with an eastbound vehicle that was operated by Ronald R. Waage, 71, of Argyle.


Holst was wearing her seat belt and was injured in the crash. Holst declined to be transported by EMS. The air bags did not deploy in her vehicle. Holst’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene. Waage was wearing his seat belt and was not injured in the crash. The air bags did not deploy in his vehicle. A passenger in Waage’s vehicle was identified as Diane K. Waage, 67, of Argyle. Diane Waage was wearing her seat belt. Diane Waage was transported by EMS to the Monroe ER for injuries sustained in the crash. Waage’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.


Holst was cited for Failure to Maintain Control of a Motor Vehicle and was released pending court.


Warrant Arrest:


At 4:29 PM, Deputies arrested Eliezer Cardenas Avendano, 26, of Monroe, in the W7700 block of Smock Valley Rd., Town of Jordan. Cardenas Avendano was arrested on a felony warrant through Freeport Police Department for Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute. Cardenas Avendano was jailed.


Motor Vehicle Crash - Personal Injury:


At 9:19 PM, Deputies responded to the W8600 block of STH 81, Town of Jordan, for a car vs. deer crash with injuries. Gregory W. Kowal, 64, of Janesville, was traveling eastbound on STH 81 when a deer entered the roadway and collided with his vehicle.  Kowal reported that he was wearing his seat belt. Kowal reported being injured in the crash, but declined EMS. The vehicle sustained severe damage and the air bags deployed. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
