July 10, 2017:  Daily News Release

The following incidents were reported on Sunday, July 9th, 2017:

Operating While Under the Influence / Motor Vehicle Crash with Injuries:

At 1:11 a.m., Deputies turned around to stop a speeding vehicle on CTH EE, near CTH D (north), when the vehicle turned northbound onto CTH D and proceeded at a high rate of speed.  A short time later, Deputies found a vehicle crashed in some trees in the N6800 block of CTH D, in the Town of Mount Pleasant.

Mark A. Flood, 51, Albany, was northbound when his passenger side tires left the roadway.  Flood overcorrected and skidded sideways across the roadway and into a yard.  The vehicle struck a culvert marker and went airborne across a driveway. The vehicle then struck a mailbox, corn dryer, a guide wire, and a grain elevator, all with the passenger side, before coming to rest in some trees.

Flood was wearing his seatbelt and was extricated from the vehicle. There was airbag deployment and he was flown to an area hospital.  Flood was later arrested for OWI 3rd offense (alcohol), and cited for Speeding and Failure to Maintain Control of a Vehicle.  He was released to the hospital's care and has a court date.

The vehicle sustained severe all-over damage and was towed from the scene. Monticello Fire Department and Albany EMS assisted at the scene.

Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 5:17 a.m., Deputies responded to Grande Cheese, N2607 CTH S, Town of Sylvester, for a report of a milk truck vs. parked truck accident without injuries. Deputies arrived on scene and made contact with Christina L. Weiler, 39, of Monroe, and Andrew J. Holmes, 50, of Madison.

Investigation revealed that Andrew was operating a tanker truck in the parking lot of Grande Cheese, when he struck Christina's vehicle. Both vehicles sustained very minor damage and were able to be driven. Andrew reported wearing his seatbelt and there was no airbag deployment in either vehicle. Christina was not in the vehicle, and her airbags did not deploy.

Warrant Arrest:

At 5:09 p.m., Deputies were looking for a subject jumping off a bridge into the Sugar River in the W1200 block of Decatur-Albany Rd., Town of Decatur, when two female subjects were observed trespassing at a nearby property. The two female subjects were identified as Mayra (NMI) Robles, 25, of South Beloit, WI, and Mariela (NMI) Alvarado, 23, of Carol Stream, IL.  Mayra and Mariela were given verbal warnings for Trespassing.

During the course of the investigation, however, Mayra was arrested on a Beloit Police Department arrest warrant for Contempt of Court. Mayra was unable to post the required bond amount and she was turned over to the Beloit Police Department.
