July 29, 2017:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on Friday, July 28th, 2017:

Motor Vehicle Crash:

 

At 12:20 AM, Deputies responded to the W7900 block of STH 81, Town of Jordan, for a one-vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that Dylan M. Cleaveland, 24, of Monroe, was eastbound when he reported that he swerved to miss an animal in the road. Cleveland’s vehicle then went down an embankment, where it came to rest.

Cleaveland was wearing his seat belt and was not injured in the crash. There was no airbag deployment. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. Cleaveland was cited for Operating After Suspension and was released pending court.

Motor Vehicle Crash-Personal Injury:

At 12:56 AM, Deputies responded to a motorcycle crash in the W4600 block of STH 11, Town of Jefferson. Mark D. McCoy, 43,
of Monroe, was westbound when he reported that he swerved to miss an animal in the road. McCoy lost control of the motorcycle
and entered the median, where the motorcycle overturned.

McCoy was not wearing a helmet, but was wearing eye protection. McCoy was injured in the crash, but declined medical attention. The motorcycle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. The Monroe Police Department assisted at the scene.

 

Motor Vehicle Crash:

 

At 11:50 AM, Deputies responded to STH 69 at CTH P, Town of Clarno, for a two-vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that Daniel S. Haugrud, 55, of Pelican Rapids, MN, was northbound on STH 69 when he came to a complete stop in the northbound lane. Cory A. Steele, 27, of Freeport, IL, was also northbound on STH 69 and was stopped behind Haugrud’s vehicle. Steele then attempted to pass Haugrud on the left side. As Steele began the passing maneuver, Haugrud then turned west onto CTH P and the two vehicles collided.

 

Haugrud was wearing his seat belt and was not injured in the crash. The air bags did not deploy in his vehicle. Haugrud’s vehicle sustained no damage and was driven from the scene. Steele was wearing his seat belt and was not injured in the crash. The air bags did not deploy in Steele’s vehicle. Steele’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene. Haugrud was cited for Inattentive Driving and was released pending court. Steele was cited for Operating After Suspension and was released pending court.

 

Motor Vehicle Crash  - Personal Injury:

At 1:41 PM, Deputies, along with Belleville EMS, Belleville Fire Department, and Brooklyn EMS, responded to the N9500 block of CTH D, Town of Exeter, for a motorcycle crash with injuries. Investigation revealed that Richard O. Stoehr, 59, of Albany, was southbound on CTH D when a deer entered the roadway and collided with his motorcycle.

Stoehr was not wearing a helmet, but was wearing eye protection. A passenger on the motorcycle was identified as Patricia A. Stoehr, 63, of Albany. Patricia Stoehr was wearing a helmet. Both were injured in the crash and were transported by EMS to UW Hospital. The motorcycle received severe damage and was towed from the scene.
