The following incidents occurred on Sunday, August 6th, 2017:

Motor Vehicle Crash - Personal Injury:

At 10:59 AM, Deputies, along with Brodhead Fire Department, Brodhead EMS, and Brodhead Police Department, responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of STH 11 and STH 81, Town of Spring Grove.

Investigation revealed that Melody A. Deane, 54, of Monroe, was stopped at the stop sign on STH 81 and STH 11. Deane then pulled away from the stop sign into the path of a westbound motorcycle that was operated by Paul L. Marzahl, 47, of Janesville. Marzahl had a passenger on the motorcycle, Linda K. Topp, 47, of Edgerton, WI.

 

Marzahl was injured in the crash, but declined medical treatment at the scene. Deane was injured in the crash, but declined medical treatment at the scene. Deane was wearing a seat belt and the air bags did not deploy in her vehicle. Topp was injured in the crash and was transported to Janesville Mercy System. Neither Marzahl nor Topp were wearing a helmet, but both were wearing eye protection.

 

Deane’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene. Marzahl’s motorcycle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene.

 

Deane was cited for Fail to Yield from Stop Sign resulting in Bodily Harm. Marzahl was cited for Operate without valid Motorcycle License. Both were released pending court.

Drug Violation:

At 7:43 PM, Deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding in the N3500 block of CTH N, Town of Monroe.  Investigation resulted in the driver, Cody A. Sanders, 22, of Sauk City, being cited for Operate a Motor Vehicle without Insurance and Non-Registration of an Auto.

 

A passenger in the vehicle, Shannon R. Ward, 21, of Reedsburg, was cited for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Marijuana. Both were released pending court. The Green County K9 Unit assisted with the investigation.
