September 23, 2017:  Daily News Release

The following incidents were reported on Friday, September 22, 2017:

Warrant Arrest:

At 9:00 a.m., Deputies arrested Curtis John Gerber, 33, Browntown, for a Department of Corrections warrant at a residence in the 300 block of S. Church Street, in Browntown.  He was jailed.

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage:

At 9:07 a.m., Deputies were called to a semi vs. car crash in the N7700 STH 104, Town of Brooklyn. James S. Orvick, 39, Albany, was traveling northbound when a piece of the semi-tractor fell off and struck a vehicle in the northbound lane.  Orvick reported wearing a seatbelt, and was uninjured. There was no airbag deployment.  Orvick’s vehicle sustained minor driver’s side damage and was driven from the scene.

Abdullah Riza, 47, MC Kees Rocks, PA, was traveling south on STH 104 when a quarter panel from his semi unit fell off and struck the northbound vehicle. There was no damage to the semi unit or trailer due to the crash. There was no contact with the northbound vehicle. Riza reported wearing a seatbelt and was uninjured.  There was no airbag deployment.

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage:

At 12:40 p.m., Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash in the W8600 block of STH 39, Town of York.  Lori R. Schaefer, 54, Blanchardville, was eastbound on STH 39 when she took evasive action to avoid a turkey in the roadway. A portion of the Schaefer vehicle entered the oncoming lane at the crest of the hill and into the oncoming path of a milk truck operated by George Kenneth Yoder, 43, Juda.  The two vehicles sideswiped, which resulted in minor driver’s side damage.

Yoder was cited for Non-Registration of a Vehicle, and Schaefer was cited for Failure to Maintain Control. Both subjects were released pending a court appearance.

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage:

At 4:47 p.m., Deputies responded to a vehicle vs. goat crash in the W3000 block of Purintun Rd., Town of Albany.  Torie Lynn Cason, 41, Albany, was eastbound when she collided with goats in the roadway.  Clason reported wearing her seatbelt and was uninjured. There was no airbag deployment.  The vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage and was driven from the scene.

Warrant Arrest:

At 10:34 p.m., Jeremy H. Hardyman, 31, Browntown, turned himself in at the Green County Sheriff’s Office for a Department of Corrections warrant. He was jailed.
