Motor Vehicle Crash - Property Damage:

At approximately 1:30 AM, Lucinda A. Walters, 57, of Monroe, was traveling westbound on STH 11, when she attempted to turn southbound onto Steiner Road.  During the turn, Lucinda swerved to avoid a deer that was in the roadway, losing control of her vehicle and entering the ditch. Lucinda then struck the embankment, causing damage to her vehicle.

Lucinda reported seatbelt usage and no injuries from the crash.  The front driver and passenger side airbag deployed.  The vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage and was driven from the scene.

Motor Vehicle Crash - Property Damage:

At approximately 6:16 AM, Deputies responded to the N8100 block of State Hwy. 104 for a two-vehicle crash with no injuries.

Investigation revealed that Kerry A. Buehl, 51, of Brodhead, was traveling northbound on Hwy. 104 when he attempted to pass a slowing vehicle. The other vehicle was operated by Arnold L. Hansen, Jr., 44, of Brodhead. It was reported that Arnold failed to signal for a turn and collided with Buehl’s passing vehicle. Hansen then fled the scene on foot.

Buehl was not hurt during the crash and was wearing a seatbelt.  The front airbag did deploy and was towed from the scene by Arn's towing. Buehl was warned for passing into traffic making a left turn.

Hansen’s vehicle sustained minor left-front damage and was towed from the scene. It appeared that Hansen was not injured; however, it is unknown if he was wearing a seatbelt.  The airbags did not deploy.
