The following incidents were reported on Monday, October 9th, 2017:
Vehicle vs. Animal:
Ashley K. Kittoe, 43, Mount Horeb - W7700 Farmers Grove Rd, Town of York
Elden D. Jelle, 43, Brooklyn - W5200 CTH W, Town of New Glarus
Nathan W. Strutz, 46, Verona and James R. Riese, Monroe, 42 - N5900 STH 69, Town of Mount Pleasant
At 7:21 a.m., Deputies responded to N2300 Schuetz Road, in the Town of Clarno, for a littering complaint. Jonathan Paul Saxer, 32, South Wayne, was cited for littering. He was released pending court.
Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage:
At 8:55 a.m., Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash in the N1300 STH 69, Town of Clarno. Melany A. Fox, 42, Freeport, IL, advised she was northbound on STH 69 when she became distracted with something inside her vehicle and rear-ended the vehicle traveling northbound in front of her. Fox’s vehicle sustained severe front-end damage and the airbags deployed. Fox reported wearing her seatbelt, and was uninjured. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Jacob W. Piske, 33, Marengo, IL, was northbound on Highway 69 and was slowing down to make the turn into Equity Sales. He stated he did have his turn signal on and was struck from behind. Piske reported wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured. The truck sustained minor damage. There was no airbag deployment. The trailer sustained moderate damage. The trailer was left at Equity Sales, and the truck was driven from the scene. No cows were injured in the crash.
Fox was issued a citation for Inattentive Driving and was released pending a court date.
