October 11, 2017:  Daily News Release

The following events occurred on Tuesday, October 10th, 2017:

Motor Vehicle Crash – Personal Injury:

At 1:33 AM, Deputies responded to the N2900 Block of County Highway S, Town of Sylvester, for a car vs. deer crash with injuries. James W. Kuhlmeier, age 65, of Dakota, IL, was southbound when a deer collided with the front of his vehicle. James reported wearing his seat belt. He sustained minor injuries in the collision, but declined treatment at the scene. James' vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage; there was airbag deployment. James was able to drive the vehicle from the scene. The deer was killed in the collision.

Motor Vehicle Crash – Personal Injury:

At 2:53 AM, Deputies responded to the N7900 block of County Highway CC, Town of Exeter, for a car vs. deer crash with injuries.  Peter S. Ringgenberg, age 46, of Monroe, was traveling south when a deer collided with his vehicle.  Peter reported wearing his seatbelt. He sustained minor injuries in the collision and declined medical attention at the scene. Peter’s vehicle was disabled in the collision and was towed from the scene. Peter was cited for Operating Motor Vehicle Without Insurance and released pending a court hearing.

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage:

At 7:04 AM, Deputies, Brodhead PD, and the Green County Highway Department responded to State Highway 104, north of Borchardt Road, Town of Decatur, for a deer vs. two-vehicle collision. Shawn M. Cook, age 43, of Brodhead, was traveling north when a deer collided with the front of her vehicle. The deer went airborne and collided with a south bound vehicle, operated by Matthew B. Thomson, age 24, of Evansville. Both driver’s reported wearing their seat belts and were not injured in the collision. Both vehicle’s sustained moderate damage and were towed from the scene. There was no airbag deployment.

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage:

At 11:05 AM, Deputies responded to the intersection of County Highway K and Town Center Road, Town of Jefferson, for a two-vehicle collision. Brian J. Indergand, age 55, of Monroe, was operating a blacktop paving machine while conducting roadway repairs in the southbound lane. An unknown northbound vehicle was stopped on the northbound shoulder, at the direction of the roadway repair crew. A bus, operated by Patricia D. Poppe, age 56, of Monroe, was traveling south between the paving machine and the unknown vehicle when she collided with part of the paving machine. Patricia was wearing her seat belt. Neither she nor her juvenile female passenger wear injured in the collision. The bus sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene. Brian was not injured in the collision and the paving machine sustained minor damage.
