The following incidents occurred on Friday, October 20th, 2017:
Motor Vehicle Crash-Personal Injury:
At 10:52 AM, Deputies, along with Monroe Police Department, Monroe Fire Department, and Green County EMS, responded to the W6300 block of STH 11, Town of Monroe, for a two-vehicle crash with injuries.
Investigation revealed that Jon C. Steinmann, 48, of Monroe, was westbound when he slowed down in traffic and was rear-ended by a vehicle that was operated by Alvin G. Schutte, 90, of Monroe. A passenger in Schutte’s vehicle was identified as Algreta A. Schutte, 87, of Monroe. Both Schutte’s were wearing seat belts. Both Schutte’s were injured in the crash and were transported by EMS to the Monroe Clinic Hospital. The air bags deployed in Schutte’s vehicle.
Steinmann was wearing his seat belt and was injured in the crash. Steinmann was transported by EMS to the Monroe Clinic Hospital. The air bags did not deploy in Steinmann’s vehicle. Steinmann’s vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene.
Schutte’s vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. Alvin Schutte was cited for Following Too Close and was released pending court.
At 3:48 PM, Deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding in the W4400 block of STH 11, Town of Jefferson. Investigation resulted in John P. Cadogan, 39, of Monticello, being cited for Operating after Revocation (Crime). He was released pending court.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 7:56 PM, Deputies, along with the Monroe Police Department, responded to the STH 11 westbound off ramp and STH 81 interchange for a two-vehicle crash with no injuries.
Investigation revealed that Qin Yan Gao, 33, of Monroe, was stopped at the stop sign. Qin Yan Gao entered the intersection and failed to yield the right of way and collided with a northbound vehicle operated by Skylar A. Kiss, 30, of New Glarus. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and were not injured in the crash. The air bags did not deploy in either vehicle.
Qin Yan Gao’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene. The Kiss vehicle received minor damage and was driven from the scene.
