November 15, 2017:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on Tuesday, November 14th, 2017:

Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 4:11 PM, Deputies responded to the intersection of CTH T and STH 81, Town of Spring Grove, for a three-vehicle crash.

Investigation revealed that Laura G. Wenger, 17, of Brodhead, was stopped at the stop sign on CTH T and STH 81. Wenger then continued southbound on CTH T when an eastbound vehicle, operated by Jacob M. Koepke, 30, of Edgerton, collided with hers. Kroepke's vehicle then veered into a northbound vehicle that was stopped at the stop sign and was operated by Daniel L. Schade, 22, of Rockford, IL.

All the drivers reported wearing seat belts and were not injured in the crash. Wenger’s vehicle received minor damage and was driven from the scene. Wenger’s truck was not equipped with air bags. Kroepke’s vehicle received moderate damage and was driven from the scene. The air bags did not deploy in Kroepke’s vehicle. Schade’s vehicle received moderate damage and was driven from the scene. The air bags did not deploy in Schade’s vehicle.

Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 4:32 PM, Deputies responded to W3000 Main Street, in Juda, Town of Jefferson, for a two-vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that Dean A. Devoe, 16, of Monroe, was eastbound when he reported that he dropped is cell phone and reached down to pick it up.  At this time, Devoe struck a parked vehicle that was unoccupied.  Devoe reported wearing his seat belt and was not injured.  The air bags in the vehicle did not deploy.  The vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage and was driven from the scene.

The unoccupied vehicle was owned by Brian W. Metz, 46, of Juda.  The vehicle sustained severe damage and the air bags did not deploy.  The unoccupied vehicle was left at the scene. Devoe was cited for Inattentive Driving and was released pending court.

Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 4:39 PM, Deputies responded to the W3100 block of STH 92, Town of Exeter, for a two-vehicle crash.

Investigation revealed that Laurel E. LaPlante, 71, of Oregon, was going eastbound when she started to slow down in traffic and was rear-ended by a vehicle operated by Marissa K. Ubert, 26, of Fitchburg. Neither LaPlante nor Ubert were injured in the crash and they were both wearing their seat belts. The air bags did not deploy in either vehicle. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were driven from the scene.
