The following incidents occurred on Sunday, December 10th, 2017:
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 3:00 AM, Deputies, along with Brodhead Police and Brodhead Fire, responded to the W400 Block of CTH E, Town of Decatur, for a single vehicle rollover accident.
Investigation revealed that James D. Beggs, 21, of Janesville, was operating his vehicle southbound on CTH E, from Golf Course Road, when he failed to negotiate the curve, entered the south ditch, crossed through a fence, and came to rest in the yard of a residence. During the crash, James' truck overturned approximately 4 or 5 times, sustaining severe overall damage.
James then fled from the scene after the crash and was picked up by another individual. Rock County Sheriff's Office was requested to attempt contact with James at his residence. Contact was later made with James at a local hospital. James stated he was not wearing a seatbelt during the crash, he was ejected from the vehicle, and he sustained injuries. Citations are pending.
At 3:47 p.m., Deputies received a report of an assault that took place in the 400 Block of E. Coates Ave., in the Village of Monticello. Investigation revealed that Jonathon M. Parker, 17, of Monroe, had physically assaulted a juvenile female victim. As a result of the investigation, Jonathon was arrested for Physical Abuse to a Child, Strangulation, Battery, Disorderly Conduct, and Criminal Damage to Property. Parker was incarcerated at the Green County Jail, pending an initial court appearance.
