December 27, 2017:  Daily News Release

The following events occurred on Tuesday, December 26th, 2017:

Motor Vehicle Crash with Injuries:

At 7:30 AM, Deputies and Brodhead Police responded to the W400 Block of CTH E, Town of Decatur, for a one-vehicle crash. Cindy M. Miller, 58, of Brodhead, lost control of her vehicle while negotiating a curve, entered the ditch, struck a fence and tree, and then came to rest. Cindy’s vehicle airbags did not deploy and the vehicle sustained disabling damage; it was removed from the scene by a tow truck. Cindy sustained minor injuries, but declined medical assistance. No citations issued.

Theft:

At 3:41PM, Deputies took a report of a theft that occurred in the N1900 Block of Brunkow Road, Town of Jefferson. The victim reported an engine hoist had been stolen from their property. The engine hoist was described as being red and blue in color, a 5-ton capability, and being approximately 8 feet long. No signs of forced entry were located at the property. No one had permission to take the engine hoist and there are suspects. The investigation is pending further information.

Motor Vehicle Crash with Injuries:

At 4:17 PM, Deputies, along with Monroe Fire, Green County EMS and WI State Patrol, responded to a two-vehicle crash on State Hwy 11, at Carnie Road, Town of Monroe.  Investigation revealed that a vehicle, operated by Gary G. Miller, 70, of Warren, IL, was westbound on STH 11.  The second vehicle was operated by Jeanna L. Rupnow, 18, of rural Argyle.  Rupnow was westbound on STH 11, had stopped, was waiting for oncoming traffic before turning south of Carnie Road, when she was rear-ended by Miller's vehicle.

Rupnow sustained injuries in the crash and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.  She was wearing her seatbelt and the airbag did deploy.  Her vehicle sustained severe rear-end damage and was towed from the scene. Miller sustained injuries in the crash and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.  He was wearing his seatbelt and the airbag deployed in his vehicle. His vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage and was towed from the scene.  Miller was cited for Following Too Closely and released pending court.

Disorderly Conduct Arrest:

At 8:35 p.m., Deputies responded to a residence in the N4100 Block of CTH E, Town of Decatur, for a report of a disturbance.  The investigation revealed that Alesa M. Hamby, 18, of Brodhead, had assaulted a roommate. Alesa was then placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct and a Probation Hold. Hamby was incarcerated at the Green County Jail and further charges are pending.
