The following incidents occurred on Monday, January 8th, 2018:
Motor Vehicle Crash-Personal Injury:
At 1:35 PM, Deputies responded to the intersection of CTH C & CTH N, Town of Washington, for a two-vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that John F. Cook, 48, of Janesville, was southbound on CTH N when he failed to stop at the stop sign and collided with a westbound vehicle on CTH C that was operated by James D. Ritchard, 61, of Monticello.
Ritchard was wearing his seat belt. The air bags did not deploy in Ritchard’s vehicle. Ritchard was injured in the crash, but declined medical attention. Cook was wearing his seat belt and reported no injuries in the crash. The air bags deployed in in Cook’s vehicle. Both vehicles had severe damage and were towed from the scene. Cook was cited for Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign and was released pending court.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 4:23 PM, Deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash in the N2100 block of Bagley Road, Town of Spring Grove. Investigation revealed that Bryce M. Messerli, 23, of Davis, IL, was northbound on Bagley Road when he lost control of his vehicle and entered the ditch and collided with a tree. Messerli was not injured and was wearing his seatbelt. The air bags did not deploy. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was removed from the scene.
