January 22, 2018:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on Sunday, January 21st, 2018:

Operate While Under the Influence:

At 2:30 AM, Deputies responded to the 100 block of E. Old Highway Road, Browntown, Town of Cadiz, for a Disorderly Conduct case. Investigation resulted in Richard W. Jarosz, 48, of Monroe, being arrested for Operate While Under the Influence (alcohol) 2nd Offense. Jarosz was released pending court.

Bail Jumping:

At 5:57 PM, Deputies responded to a domestic dispute at a residence in the W2600 block of Story Creek Circle, Town of Exeter. Investigation resulted in Cheryl M. Bowers, 42, of Belleville, being arrested for Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.  Bowers was booked into jail pending court or cash bond.

Motor Vehicle Crash-Personal Injury & OWI:

At 7:42 PM, Deputies, along with Brodhead Fire Department, and Brodhead EMS, responded to a one-vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of CTH F & CTH OK, Town of Decatur. Investigation revealed that David M. Cotter, 36, of Greenfield, WI, was going southbound on CTH F when he failed to negotiate the curve, entered the ditch, struck a power pole, phone junction box, traffic sign posts and a tree.

Cotter was wearing a seat belt. The air bags deployed in the vehicle. Cotter was injured in the crash and was transported by Brodhead EMS to the Monroe ER. The car sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. Cotter was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence (alcohol) 1st Offense. Cotter was also cited for Failure to Maintain Control of a Motor Vehicle. Cotter was released pending court.

Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 7:45 PM, Deputies responded to the intersection of CTH F & CTH OK, Town of Decatur, for a one-vehicle crash. Stephen C. Wallace, 67, of Brodhead, was going eastbound on CTH OK when his vehicle struck some power lines that were hanging low from a previous crash. The power lines started the back of Wallace’s car on fire. The fire was extinguished. Wallace was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt. There was no airbag deployment. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene. The Brodhead Fire Department assisted at the scene.
