The following incidents occurred on Monday, February 5th, 2018:
Motor Vehicle Crash w/Injuries:
At 8:09 AM, Deputies responded to the N5700 block of Fiedler Road, Albany Township, for a report of a two-vehicle crash.
Investigation found that Garrett R. Hlavachek, 18, of Albany, was northbound on Fiedler Road when he lost control of the vehicle he was operating and slid into a southbound vehicle operated by Kasey C. Genthe, 24, of Albany. Garrett's vehicle then slid sideways into a power pole on the east side of the road.
Both subjects advised they were wearing seat belts and the vehicle Garrett was operating had the airbags deployed. Kasey reported minor injuries, but did not want any immediate medical attention and he later was taken to a hospital by private vehicle.
The vehicle Garrett was operating was towed from the scene due to disabling damage. Genthe's vehicle received functional damage, but was driven from the scene. Alliant Energy responded as the power pole was broken.
Garrett received a citation for Too Fast for Conditions.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 8:47 AM, Deputies were originally called to the area of Bloom Lane, Monroe Township, for a check welfare on a male subject in a vehicle with no bumper. The reporting person stated the subject may have been impaired.
When Deputies arrived in the area, the vehicle was gone; however, the vehicle was later located in the W5600 Block of Patterson Road, Monroe Township, up against a tree, but the driver had fled the scene.
After a subsequent investigation, the operator was located at a hospital and identified as Christopher Kummer, 27, of Browntown. Kummer admitted to driving the vehicle and he sustained minor injuries from the crash. The vehicle sustained functional damage and was impounded.
This case is still under investigation and citations are pending.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 4:46 PM, Deputies responded to the area of CTH E and Race Road, Decatur Township, for a vehicle versus traffic sign. A car, operated by Justin M. Carreras, 23, of Brodhead, was going northbound on CTH E when he lost control of the car due to the snow-covered road. The car went into the ditch and collided with a speed limit sign post.
Carreras was not injured, was wearing a seatbelt, and there was no airbag deployment. The vehicle did not sustain any damage and Carreras drove the vehicle from the scene.
