The following incidents occurred on Wednesday, February 28th, 2018:
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 7:31 AM, Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on the Argyle Interchange, N3100 STH 81, Town of Monroe. Heather A. Hayden, 40, of Monroe, was northbound in the right lane and Ryan R. Englebrecht, 49, of Freeport, IL, was also northbound in the left lane. Hayden moved into the left lane and struck Engelbrecht's vehicle.
Engelbrecht reported that he was uninjured and was wearing his seat belt. There was no airbag deployment. Engelbrecht’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
Hayden reported wearing her seatbelt and was uninjured. There was no airbag deployment. Hayden’s vehicle was towed from the scene due to disabling damage to a tire. Hayden was cited for Deviation from Designated Lane and was released pending court.
At 5:12 PM, Deputies arrested James R. Haas, 31, of Albany, at a residence in the W2900 block of Purintun Road, Town of Albany. Haas was arrested on two Failure to Pay Fine warrants that were issued by Green County. Haas was jailed pending bond.
Motor Vehicle Crash-Personal Injury:
At 11:28 PM, Deputies, along with Brodhead Police, Brodhead Fire, and Brodhead EMS, responded to a one-vehicle crash with injuries in the N1600 block of CTH G, Town of Spring Grove.
Investigation revealed that Benito Aguilar Paredes, 26, of Brodhead, was northbound on CTH G when his vehicle crossed the center line and entered the ditch, where he struck a culvert. The vehicle then went airborne for a distance and then struck a tree, which resulted in his vehicle overturning. Aguilar Paredes was trapped in the vehicle and was extricated by Brodhead Fire Dept. Seat belt usage was unknown. The air bags deployed in the vehicle.
Aguilar Paredes was transported by EMS to Janesville Mercy. Aguilar Paredes was cited for Operating Left of Center and Failure to Keep Vehicle under Control and was released pending court. The vehicle had severe damage and was towed from the scene.
