The following incidents occurred on Sunday, March 4, 2018:
All person’s arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Operating While Under the Influence – Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 3:36 AM, Deputies, along with Argyle Fire and Argyle EMS, responded to the W8100 block of Apple Grove Rd., Town of Adams, for a report of a single vehicle accident with injuries. The driver, Jacob A Riley, 21, Argyle, reported driving westbound when he entered the south ditch and struck a power pole and a fence. Riley reported injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Riley reported not wearing his seat belt and there was no airbag deployment. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
Further investigation resulted in Riley being arrested for Operating While Under the Influence, 1st Offense. Riley was also cited for Operating After Suspension, Too Fast for Conditions, Open Intoxicants, and Failure to Wear Seat Belt. Riley was turned over to the Monroe Police Dept. after investigation revealed that he had fled from Monroe Police Officers prior to the crash. Riley was then held at the Green County Jail for Monroe’s charges, pending a court appearance.
Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage:
At 1:29 PM, Deputies responded to the 2100 block of First Center Avenue, City of Brodhead, for a motor vehicle crash with no injuries. Investigation found that James Michael Zomok, 46, Beloit, was southbound on First Center Avenue when he was rear ended by Paul Alan Bakko, 52, Janesville. Both Zomok and his passenger reported wearing seat belts and no injuries. Bakko advised that he was wearing a seatbelt and also reported no injuries. There was no airbag deployment and both vehicles were driven from the scene after sustaining functional damage.
