The following incidents occurred on Thursday, March 9th, 2018:
At 9:51 AM, Deputies responded to the N5200 block of STH 59 for a vandalism to a vehicle. There are no suspects at this time and the case remains under investigation.
Child Abuse / Warrant Arrest:
At 1:00 PM, Deputies responded to N2303 Brodhead-Airport road for a report of child abuse. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Marianne Zubek, age 52, for Physical Abuse of a Child. Marianne was jailed pending a court hearing.
While Deputies were investigating the incident, Richard D. Thomas, 33, of Darlington, was arrested on a warrant through Lafayette County. He was transported to Green County Jail and later posted bond.
Motor Vehicle Crash – Personal Injury:
At 1:11 PM, Deputies, along with Monticello Fire Department, New Glarus EMS, New Glarus Police, Green County Highway Department, and Green County EMS were called to the intersection of State Highway 69 and County Highway C, in Mt. Pleasant Township, for a two-vehicle crash with injuries reported.
Investigation revealed a vehicle that was stopped at the stop sign on the west side of the intersection for County Highway C failed to yield the right away to a southbound vehicle on Highway 69.
The driver of the vehicle on County Highway C was identified as Leland R. Bishop, 37, of Beloit, Wisconsin. He was stopped at the stop sign on the west side of County C, at Highway 69. He thought the roadway was cleared and started out from the intersection, colliding with the southbound vehicle. Bishop was wearing a seatbelt and there was no airbag did not deployment. He reported no injuries and his vehicle sustained severe damage to the driver side. The vehicle he was hauling sustained no damage. Bishop’s vehicle was towed from the scene via the owner.
Ronald L. Nusbaum, 71, of Rock Falls, Illinois, was traveling southbound on STH 69 when Bishop pulled out in front of him. Nusbaum was wearing a seatbelt and reported no injuries at the time. He was later transported to UW Hospital by New Glarus EMS for unknown injuries. His passenger, identified as Kathleen R. Thomas, 68, of Rock Falls, Illinois, was injured in the crash. She was wearing a seatbelt and there was airbag deployment. She was transported by UW Med Flight to UW Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Nusbaum's vehicle sustained severe front-end damage and was towed from the scene by Jelle's Towing.
The crash remains under investigation and citations are pending.
At 8:47 PM, Deputies received a report of a domestic disturbance at N4503 CTH J, in the Town of Monroe. Following an investigation, Richard A. Andrews, age 39, was arrested for Domestic Battery, Domestic Disorderly Conduct, and nine counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping. Richard was jailed pending bond or court.
Pursuant to the directive of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and found in the Supreme Court rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicity, you are advised that a charge is merely and accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
