The following incidents occurred on Wednesday, March 10th, 2018:
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 10:44 AM, Deputies were called to the intersection of Greenbush Road at Balls Mill Road, in Sylvester Township, for a motor vehicle crash with no injuries reported. Investigation found that Danielle R. Johnson, 47, of Monroe, failed to yield the right-of-way from a stop sign. Johnson reported wearing a seatbelt and there was no airbag deployment. Johnson's vehicle sustained very minor damage and was driven from the scene.
A second vehicle, driven by Richard S. Moyer, 74, of Brodhead, was traveling east on Greenbush Road when the vehicle he was operating was struck by Johnson’s vehicle. He reported wearing his seatbelt and no airbag deployment. He reported no injuries in the crash. Moyer's vehicle sustained very minor damage and was driven from the scene.
Johnson was cited for Failure to Yield the Right-of-Way from a Stop Sign and she was released pending a court date.
Traffic Crash – PD / Operating While Intoxicated:
At 11:23 AM, Deputies responded to the Village of Albany for a motor vehicle crash that took place in the N5000 block of STH 104, Township of Albany. This was being reported as a hit-and-run. The offending vehicle was located in Albany.
Investigation found that Chad L. Phillips, 35, of Evansville, was traveling southbound on STH 104 when the vehicle he was operating was struck by a second vehicle that failed to stop at the stop at the intersection of CTH B. That vehicle made a very wide right hand turn and struck his trailer. Phillips reported wearing a seatbelt and there was no airbag deployment. He reported no injuries. Phillips’ vehicle sustained no damage; however, his trailer sustained minor damage to the left rear tire. He was able to drive his vehicle and the trailer from the scene.
The second vehicle was traveling westbound on County Highway B and failed to stop at the stop sign and the driver was identified at Kurt W. Klinger, 51, of Evansville. Klinger reported wearing a seatbelt and there was no airbag deployment. He reported no injuries in the crash.
Klinger was arrested for First Offense Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence, Prohibited Alcohol Concentration, Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign, Open Intoxicants by a Driver, and Hit-and-Run. He was released to a responsible person, pending a court date. Klinger's vehicle sustained minor damage and was left at a location in Albany.
At 5:48 PM, Deputies were dispatched to N260 Woodman Road, in Clarno Township, for a check welfare. Investigation resulted in Alicia K. Mikel, 49, being arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Battery. Mikel was booked and released, pending a court date.
Traffic Crash – Property Damage:
At 5:54 PM, Deputies were advised by the Monroe P.D. of a property crash in the W6300 block of West 8th Street, in Monroe Township. Investigation found that a vehicle, driven by Andrea L. Wilson, 23, of DeForest, was going westbound on West 8th Street when she went into the ditch, where she collided with a chain link fence. Wilson was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt. There was no airbag deployment. The car received severe damage and was towed from the scene. Wilson was arrested by the Monroe P.D. for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Intoxicants First Offense, Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle, and for Prohibited Alcohol Level. She was released to a responsible person. Monroe Township and the Highway Department were advised of the damaged fence.
