The following incidents were reported on Saturday, March 31st, 2018:

 

Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 2:00 AM, Deputies responded to the W1200 Block of CTH F, Town of Decatur, for a one-vehicle crash. Upon arrival, the driver had already left the scene and no one else was located near/in the vehicle.

The vehicle was traveling westbound on CTH F when the vehicle entered the north ditch and impacted. The vehicle proceeded to drive westbound in the ditch for a couple hundred feet, before striking a culvert and becoming stuck. The vehicle sustained functional damage to its entire driver side, front, and front right corner. The vehicle was towed from the scene and taken to the GRSO Impound Lot.

Deputies were eventually able to make contact with the driver and owner of the truck, Chad R. Heins, 38, of Albany, the next day. Chad admitted to driving the truck and crashed into the ditch because he was looking for his cell phone while driving. Chad was not injured during the crash.

Chad received a citation for Failure to Keep Vehicle Under Control, Non-Registration of Auto, Operate Motor Vehicle w/o Insurance, and Failure of Operator to Notify Police of Accident. The case is considered closed and Chad has a court date.

Traffic Crime:

At 6:32 AM, Deputies stopped and cited Luis Alberto Estrada-Nava, 25, of Monroe, for Operating Without a Valid License (2nd within 3 years) and Operate Vehicle Without Insurance, in the N6300 Block of STH 69, Town of Mt. Pleasant. Luis was released with a mandatory court appearance.

Warrant Arrest:

At 5:14 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding in the N800 Block of CTH G, Town of Spring Grove.  Investigation resulted in the driver of the vehicle, Tai E. Liphart, 33, of Freeport, IL, being arrested on a Monroe Police Department warrant for Failure to Pay Fine.  Tai was transported to the Green County Jail, where she posted bond. Tai was cited for Operating While Revoked, warned for Speeding, and released with a court date.
