The following incident occurred on Sunday, April 15th, 2018:
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 6:43 AM, Green County Deputies responded to STH 104, south of STH 59, for a single vehicle crash; car vs. traffic sign post and utility pole.
An investigation revealed that the vehicle was southbound on STH 104 when it lost control, entered the ditch, and struck a traffic sign. The vehicle then spun into a utility pole and snapped the pole in half before coming to rest. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and no airbags were deployed at the time of the crash.
The operator of the vehicle was identified as Kadyn C.A. Mason, 18, of Orfordville. Mason indicated that he was southbound on STH 104 when he was sucked into the ditch by the icy road conditions and the spoiler of his vehicle caught the traffic sign, which then spun him into the utility pole. Mason was not injured, was not trapped, nor did he require extrication from the vehicle. Mason indicated he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Mason was cited for Failure To Keep Vehicle Under Control. He was released with a court date and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
