April 19, 2018:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on Wednesday, April 18th, 2018:

Motor Vehicle Crash-Personal Injury:

At 11:56 AM, Deputies, along with Brooklyn Fire Department and Brooklyn EMS, responded to the W800 block of STH 92, Town of Brooklyn, for a one-vehicle crash with injuries.

Brittani Ann-Marie Ace, 18, of Brooklyn, was westbound on STH 92 when she lost control of her vehicle due to the weather conditions. Ace’s vehicle entered the ditch, where she struck a traffic sign post and then a fence. Ace was wearing her seat belt. Ace was injured in the crash and was transported by EMS to a Madison area hospital. The air bags did not deploy in the vehicle.

The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 12:10 PM, the Green County Sheriff's Office was advised of a one-vehicle crash on CTH D & Carla Dr., Town of Exeter.

Kody A. Popenfus, 21, of Belleville, was southbound on CTH D when he lost control of his vehicle due to the weather conditions. Popenfus’ vehicle left the roadway and struck a stop sign. Popenfus was not injured in the crash and was wearing his seat belt. The air bags did not deploy in the vehicle. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was removed by a private party. The Belleville Police Department assisted at the scene.

OWI:

At 7:07 PM, Deputies made contact with a motorist in the W5200 block of Highland Dr., Town of New Glarus, after the vehicle came to a stop partially off of the roadway.  Investigation resulted in Catherine C. Large, 51, of New Glarus, being arrested for Operating While Under the Influence (alcohol) 2nd Offense.  Large was also cited for Non-Registration of Automobile and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Proof of Insurance.  Large was released pending court.

OWI:

At 9:43 PM, Deputies responded to the N6600 block of Biggs Road, Town of Adams, for a vehicle in the ditch.

Investigation revealed that Cody A. Young, 25, of Argyle, lost control of his vehicle on the ice-covered road. There was no damage to his vehicle and Young reported no injuries. Young was arrested for Operating While Under the Influence (drugs) 1st Offense and a Probation Hold. Young was jailed.
