March 11, 2010:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on Wednesday, March 10, 2010:

 

MV CRASH:

At approximately 8:01 AM, Deputies were called to investigate a report of a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of CTH J, at CTH C, in Adams Township.  An investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by Diane G. Brubakken, 26, of Argyle, was traveling east on CTH C and she did not see the stop sign at the intersection in time due to the dense fog.  Brubakken collided with a highway sign, causing very minor damage to her vehicle.  No injuries were reported and Brubakken was wearing her seatbelt.  The airbag did not deploy.  The vehicle was driven from the scene.

 

DISTURBANCE:

At approximately 10:17 AM, Deputies were called to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on Hustad Valley Road in New Glarus Township.  An investigation resulted in the arrest of Charles J. Benoy, 48, of rural New Glarus, for domestic-related Disorderly Conduct, Battery, Criminal Damage to Property and Felony Intimidate a Victim.  Benoy was incarcerated in the Green County Jail pending his initial Court appearance. 

 

MV CRASH:

At approximately 10:34 AM, Deputies were called to investigate a report of a motor vehicle crash on Golf Course Road, near Oak View Court, in Decatur Township.  Investigation revealed that Jack B. Pierce, 83, of Brodhead, was driving north on Golf Course Road in foggy conditions when he crested a hill and struck a tree that had fallen into the roadway, blocking the northbound traffic lane.  Pierce was not injured in the crash.  Pierce was wearing a seat belt and no air bags were deployed.  The vehicle Pierce was driving sustained moderate front-end damage and was driven from the scene.

 

MV CRASH:

At approximately 6:49 PM, Deputies were called to investigate a report of a motor vehicle crash in the N7500 Block of STH 69 in New Glarus Township.  An investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by Cynthia E. Hoesly, 23, of New Glarus, was going southbound on STH 69 when a deer collided with her vehicle. Hoesly was not injured and she was wearing her seatbelt. The airbag did not deploy. The vehicle received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

 

MV CRASH:

At approximately 7:04 PM, Deputies were called to investigate a report of a motor vehicle crash on CTH N, south of Buehler Road, in the Town of Monroe.  Investigation revealed Robin R. Reuter, 56, of Monticello, was traveling northbound when a deer collided with his vehicle.  Reuter and his passenger were not injured, seatbelts were used and airbags did not deploy.  The vehicle sustained minor front-end damage and was driven from the scene.

 

MV CRASH:

At approximately 10:49 PM, Deputies, along with New Glarus Police Department, responded to a one-vehicle crash on CTH CC, at CTH W, in the Town of Exeter.  Investigation revealed Cory A. Riley, 20, of New Glarus, was traveling southbound on CTH CC when Riley traveled through the stop sign at the intersection, entered a field and came to a rest.  The vehicle sustained moderate undercarriage damage and was towed from the scene.  Riley sustained injuries; however, refused treatment at the scene.  Riley as not wearing a seatbelt and the airbag did not deploy.  Riley was cited for Too Fast for Conditions, Fail to Stop at a Stop Sign and Mandatory Seatbelt Violations, he was released pending court.  The dense fog and speed are contributing factors in the crash.
